BAXTER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

When Batsell Barrett Baxter was working with Herald of Truth in the 60s and 70s, he made it a point to take young people on campaigns and equip and encourage them to share their faith in Jesus. We are establishing a scholarship in his name to follow his example.

This scholarship will be awarded to students who are dedicated to sharing their faith in Jesus on their college campus. There will be an application and vetting process for those desiring the scholarship, as well as evangelistic training and accountability while in school. We believe this scholarship will make an eternal difference in the lives of young people!

A maximum of five scholarships will be awarded each year, and the students can keep the yearly scholarship while they are in college provided they are actively fulfilling the scholarship requirements. The scholarship is for up to four years at $1,500 per year paid directly to your college campus account.

Interested students will be required to fill out an application and provide references. We are also looking for people who have a deep relationship with God and his church. References will be contacted and asked about the spiritual walk and evangelistic zeal of the scholarship applicant.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by a committee that goes through a stringent vetting process.

Applicants will be required to submit an official application, including information about their GPA and evangelistic efforts. If selected, students will have to complete the following to maintain their scholarship for concurrent years they are enrolled full-time at their college:
• Attend a 60-90-minute Zoom training conference each summer.
• Submit a report at the end of each semester.
• Attend a 30-60-minute Zoom conference at the end of each semester.
• Students will be encouraged to text or call Herald of Truth staff for advice or mentorship.
